This weekend, our Colts dominated at District UIL, showcasing their brilliance in both Literary Criticism and Ready Writing!
🏆 Literary Criticism:
🥇 Kelcy O. - 1st Place! Kelcy’s deep literary insight and analytical skills led her to the top of the podium.
🥉 Aniyah B. - 3rd Place! Aniyah’s critical thinking and passion for literature shined through in the competition.
🎖️ Sara A. - 6th Place! Sara’s dedication and hard work secured her a top spot in a tough field.
🏆 TEAM CHAMPIONS! Madelyn H. played a key role in our team’s 1st place victory, helping AHS dominate the district!

At the same time, seniors Sylvia C. and Jada M. stepped up in a big way to represent AHS in Ready Writing—and they didn’t disappoint! Despite being last-minute subs for our team, they delivered thoughtful, well-crafted essays that earned them 4th and 6th place in the district. Their adaptability and writing talent were truly impressive!
