AISD hosts General Contractor Symposium

March 9, 2018 - The AISD hosted a General Contractor Symposium at the AISD Professional Development Center today to introduce upcoming construction projects to local general contractors. The architects hired to design the projects were on hand to meet with general contractors as well.
AISD Executive Director of Facilities Kelly Horn gave a brief presentation that outlined the 2014 Bond program and highlighted construction projects that will bid soon. The upcoming projects include 10 bid packages worth $129.1 million. Construction is scheduled to begin this spring.
The upcoming projects include:
- AISD Fine Arts Center
- AISD Athletics Complex
- Classroom and gym addition at Jones Academy (not a bond project)
- Deficiency work at 12 existing campuses
