Planning for life after high school can feel overwhelming, but it’s never too early to start.
That’s why the Arlington ISD College and Career Expo 2025 was a great opportunity for students to explore their options, meet with colleges and learn about potential job opportunities.
Dozens of colleges, universities and employers were on hand to answer questions, provide resources and help over 600 attendees take the next steps toward their careers.
But if you weren’t able to attend, don’t worry! There are still plenty of ways to get the help you need. Check out these resources below to stay on track for your future.
College and Scholarship Assistance
Arlington ISD offers several ways to help students navigate the college application process and find financial aid:
- Go Center: Every high school has a Go Center where students can meet with advisors who help with college applications, FAFSA/TASFA and scholarships.
- College and Career Counselors: Dedicated counselors provide one-on-one support, guiding students through everything from essay writing to securing recommendation letters.
- Financial Aid Workshops: Throughout the year, the district hosts FAFSA and TASFA workshops to help students and families understand how to apply for financial aid.
- Scholarship Listings: Arlington ISD’s guidance and counseling department maintains a list of scholarships that students can apply for. Check it out here.
Career Readiness and Job Opportunities
Not every student wants to go straight to college after high school, and that’s okay! Arlington ISD provides career pathways and job training to set students up for success in the workforce:
- Dan Dipert Career + Technical Center (CTC): Offers hands-on programs in areas like healthcare, engineering, culinary arts and automotive technology, giving students real-world experience and certifications.
- Internships and Apprenticeships: Many Arlington ISD programs connect students with local businesses for internships that offer job training and networking opportunities.
- Job Fairs and Resume Workshops: Schools frequently host events where students can meet employers, learn how to write resumes and practice interview skills.
- Dual Credit and Industry Certifications: Students can earn college credits or professional certifications while still in high school, making them job-ready upon graduation.
