Arlington ISD’s Board of Trustees meeting on February 20, 2025, is in the books, and here are a few of the highlights.

Lulu Segura, a sixth grader from Morton Elementary, started the meeting by leading the pledge of allegiance, and she did a great job.

Finances are always one of the main meeting topics, and the board approved the monthly financial report along with the quarterly investment report through December.

The board also approved the general contractor and budget for the district’s future Support Services Center. This is a 2019 Bond project that will build a new facility to house transportation, security and health services. It’s a big project that also includes knocking down a couple of old buildings and renovating the current transportation building.

The district has a trustee election coming up, so the board approved the notice of election. The election is for places four and five on the school board and is May 3. Early voting is April 22-29.

Finally, the trustees re-approved an interlocal agreement the district has had with the City of Arlington’s Public Library since 2017. This agreement lets Arlington ISD students check out up to two physical books from the library’s children’s collection without needing a library card, as well as access to eBooks from the library’s digital children’s collection.

Those are just a few of the highlights from the meeting. If you would like more details on any of these, or any of the items not covered in this Board Brief, please click here to watch the entire meeting.
