Watch the fun, play-based curriculum in action
What is a day in Arlington ISD pre-K like?
“It’s fun learning,” said Jennifer Pettiford, McNutt Elementary School pre-K teacher. “When they come to a pre-K class, they’re going to be doing interactive learning. That means hands-on.”
You can read about it, but you really have to see it. Check out the video below to see what a day is really like in Arlington ISD pre-K.
It’s a full day of learning through an innovative, play-based curriculum infused with STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).
“It’s play-based to initiate creativity and exploration of their imagination,” said Nadia Azari, an Arlington ISD pre-K instructional specialist.
With whole group activities, small group activities, music, art, free choice time, reading, math and science, the fun – and learning – never stops. Plus, there’s playing with friends, lunch, recess on the playground and a rest time.
And the best part for parents: it’s free! Arlington ISD’s pre-K for 4-year-olds is now universal. That means any 4-year-old can attend for free!
