Dolly Parton is living proof that a little bit of sparkle and a whole lot of kindness can change the world.

This week, Hill students unpacked using “empathy” towards others as a form of kindness. When Dolly Parton passed away, we furthered our morning talks by exploring her life lived as a philanthropist who showed empathy, compassion, and kindness towards others.
Our students and staff dressed in our western wear and enjoyed celebrating a beautiful legacy and life lived!!

Thank you Dolly for giving us Texas cowboys and cowgirls a great day of celebration and reflection!!

Recently, Hill was recognized for the 25-26 School Year “Parent Voice” and “Campus Impact Spotlight” awards! These recognitions are special because they highlight our Parent voice and experience as well as our Student voice and experience for supportive and caring adults!
Hill was one of six schools recognized in the district for these awards!! We could not achieve any of this without our parents, students, and teachers!!
Thank you for having open dialogue and maintaining the strong Highlander culture and community!!

Next Wednesday, September 2nd, Hill will host our annual Family Academic Night from 5:30-7:00pm.
We hope to see all of our families there! Please come out and get further details about what our school has to offer!! We will be available to answer questions and provide information about our priorities this school year!!
We look forward to hearing from and collaborating with you soon!!

Highlanders,

I am proud to announce that Hill Elementary earned a "B" rating once again this year. While earning a strong rating is an accomplishment, maintaining that level of success year after year requires unwavering dedication, continuous improvement, and a shared commitment to excellence. This rating reflects the collective efforts of our students, staff, and families who work together every day to support student achievement.
Behind every accountability score are teachers who plan purposeful lessons, students who persevere through challenges, and families who reinforce the importance of learning at home. This accomplishment belongs to our entire Highlander community.
Over the past year, our campus remained focused on strategies that support both academic growth and student success:
*Daily tutoring opportunities and flexible intervention/enrichment groups to provide targeted support and challenge for students at all levels.
*Purposeful student goal setting and goal-setting conferences that helped students take ownership of their learning and growth.
*Celebrations of student achievement and overall growth, recognizing progress as well as performance.
*Intentional differentiated instruction practices designed to meet the unique needs of every learner.

While we are proud of this achievement, we are equally committed to continuing our growth.

This year, our focus will include:

*Priority 1: Strengthening Tier 1 Instruction

We are implementing High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) in both Reading and Mathematics through Bluebonnet Learning and HMH. These resources will provide rigorous, engaging, and standards-aligned instruction that supports success for all students.

*Priority 2: Closing the Gaps for Every Learner

We will maintain a strong focus on Domain 3: Closing the Gaps, ensuring that every student continues to grow and that targeted supports are in place to help all learners reach their full potential.

At Hill Elementary, we believe that excellence is not a destination but a journey. We will continue building on our strengths while seeking new opportunities to grow, improve, and serve our students at the highest level.
